Navan Road Branch (Update)

As you are aware, our Navan Road branch has been closed for a number of months now. In the latter months of 2021, our staff numbers were heavily depleted due to COVID-19 and we were forced to make some changes to our operational structure. Now that we are through the worst of the pandemic, further operational changes can be expected, driven by a number of considerations, foremost of which is, the sustainability of Community Credit Union.
We are continually analysing our operational strategy and have made informed decisions based on many elements including but not limited to: (1) member’s needs (across the whole of Community Credit Union), (2) footfall and usage of available branches within a reasonable walking or driving distance and (3) our digital platform. As the Central Bank have outlined very strongly to us, we do not work in a vacuum and have to be cognisant of what our competitors are doing and how new members can be attracted to Community Credit Union.
For these reasons, the Board and the Management Team have decided to move our operations from the Navan Road office to our other close-by locations in Cabra West and Town Centre which will enable us to serve our members more efficiently during the launch of new and exciting products. However, please be assured that we will continue to make use of the Navan Road office for some upcoming initiatives, involving local schools and community groups.
In the last year, we have placed a massive emphasis on our new Online Services, which allows members to access their Credit Union account at the touch of a button. It enables members to set up an account, apply for a loan and transfer money in their own time and place of convenience.
While we have created this easy to use online service, we also understand that many of our members may not have previous experience with online banking technology and to assist with this transition we plan to convert our Navan Road office into a digital hub, where members can be trained to use our new Online Banking Services. We will be issuing more information on this initiative in the coming weeks.
We are also very close to the launch of our Community Credit Union Current Account. This new 24/7 service will provide members with all the benefits you would expect from a modern-day current account, but with the personal touch of your trusted Credit Union. Globally accepted Mastercard’s, contactless payments and secure transactions are just some of the features offered from this service, not to mention the cheapest monthly maintenance fees on the market, where we propose not charging any monthly maintenance fee to members over 66 for the first 12 months their current account is open.
You can be assured that as a ‘not for profit’, community based financial provider we are committed to and passionate about serving our members by providing them with the best service possible. The sustainability and further growth of Community Credit Union is a top priority and this approach will enable us serve the community for the next 60 years.
